Update 30 December 2025

Unfortunately the site is still closed. The site is not yet ready to take bookings. The main field and Delta field have now been seeded and the grass is growing. However, the standard of the re-instatement work is not to an acceptable standard and has left the field in an unacceptable condition. We are in discussions with Welsh Water to resolve this issue but at present we are unable to give a date when the site might reopen. A further update will be provided at the end of March 2026 Again our apologies for the continuing closure of the site but this is wholly due to issues beyond our control. The committee and 'the team' are working hard and are in constant discussions with Welsh Water

Update 15 July 2025

Unfortunately the site is still closed. The site is not yet ready to take bookings. The main field and Delta field have now been seeded and the grass is growing. However, the field needs more work done to it before it becomes acceptable. Welsh Water and their contractor need to sort out issues with the level of the ground and wet / boggy sections of the ground and reinstate the land drainage.

At this present time we are unable to give a date when the site might reopen.

A further update will be provided at the end of August.

Again our apologies for the continuing closure of the site but this is wholly due to issues beyond our control. The committee and 'the team' are working hard and are in constant discussions with Welsh Water.

Update 23 March 2025

Unfortunately the site is still closed but progress is being made.

Welsh Water have now laid the new pipe and connected it up. However, due to the bad weather conditions over the past 4 months the main field is still very wet and work can not yet start on restoring the field into a usable space.

It is hoped that Welsh Water will return in April / May time once the field has dried out and start the restoration work. This will take about 2 months and then we need to wait for the ground to settle and the new grass to grow.

It is unlikely that the site will reopen before October this year.

We will provide another update in 2 months with hopefully better news.

Update: 17/9/24

Work has finally started on site to replace the sewer pipe. We are hopeful that the site will reopen by Easter 2025. We will provide progress updates but at present we are still not taking any bookings.

Update: 07/05/24

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Miskin is currently closed until further notice.

Any queries about bookings can be sent to the booking secretary.
Jubilee campsite is 15min drive from Miskin and is open for bookings.

Our sincere apologies but the committee has had to make the difficult decision to close the site until further notice due to Health and Safety concerns.

We know this will be extremely disappointing and frustrating for you but we have no choice. We have been put in this awful situation by Welsh Water as sewerage is leaking from a main sewerage pipe which runs at the edge of the site and has contaminated all of the grounds. Due to the extreme rain we had over the last couple of months this has meant that the contamination has not been contained and has spread across the whole site. At the moment, most of the main field has been fenced off by Welsh Water as well as the Lodge and Mill. Welsh Water have still not given us a date for repairs and clean up of the site.

Again, our apologies but the site is just not usable at present.
